What should I expect before my massage?
If you have never had a massage or if this is your first visit to Relax! Massage Therapy & Skin Care, we want to put you at ease, discuss your goals for your session, and answer any questions you may have. We have a client information form that you will complete at check in and discuss with your massage therapist once inside your treatment room. In order to provide you with the best massage possible, your therapist will want to know why you are here, if you are in any pain, what your goals are for the session, and any concerns you may have that need to be addressed. After all your questions are answered, it’s time to relax and enjoy your massage!
What should I expect during my massage?
After answering all your questions, your therapist will leave the room so that you can undress to your comfort level and wait comfortably on the massage table, underneath the top sheet that is provided. The top sheet will stay draped over you throughout the massage. Your therapist may offer aromatherapy, hot towels, and one or two hot stones. Your therapist will work on one body part at a time and will request your feedback so that your experience can be tailored to meet your expectations. They will also check periodically to ask how the pressure is, if you want more or less, and to make sure you are comfortable. You are encouraged to speak up and let your therapist know what you need at any time, after all, this is YOUR massage!
What should I expect after my massage?
When the massage is finished, your therapist will leave the room to allow you time to get dressed. After you’re dressed, have a seat and wait comfortably until your therapist knocks on the door. They will provide you with fresh water and discuss a treatment plan with you, which may include product recommendations that will allow you to continue feeling your best as well as take your spa experience home with you. This will also be the time to schedule your followup massage, so make sure you bring your calendar! You will be reminded to drink plenty of water throughout the day, to take an Epsom salt bath as needed and to stay relaxed so that you can continue enjoying the benefits of your massage.
